That's a hella tall tire, I'd go with 225/40/19 or maybe a 225/45 if you could find them. Remember with winter tires the skinnier the better.

but i'll still be on the stock rims, forgot to mention that..
225/40/19 is the stock setup for the fronts and 245/40/19 for the rears, so that would be ideal. I was curious about 50's though..

I have an 06 Coupe with sports package and I also had the 19 Rays as well. I downgraded my winter tires to 18in with some Pirelli Winter Sotozerro Series II w/1010 tires from Tirerack in a staggered setup. It cost me about 1430.00. They make them in 19in size as well, but it's about 1K just for the wheels alone. These tires have been awesome though for the PA winters though. I know it didn't answer your specific question though.

My my you are a snippy one, but I'll try to help anyway. It's not like you're paying for people to reply and you have some sort of right to wine and moan about it. I'm guessing you're of a younger age? Sorry I had to throw that in there as a stereo-type

Your question is probably not getting much attention because it's a little bizarre. Blue Dream already answered your question by indicating a 50 profile is going to be "hella tall" and he's absolutely correct. If you take a look at any tire size comparison tool (I like to use http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp), you'll find that you're deviating 7.4% from the stock 245/40/19 rear size. That's way too much. 3% is the maximum recommended deviation as an industry rule of thumb. Will it work? Sure, but it's a terrible idea and no one in their right mind is going to tell you to do that. Speedo will be way off and VDC may or may not throw a fit.

The sizes that Blue Dream recommended would be a much wiser decision. And as coffeysm indicated, most of us run a 2nd set of small wheels in the winter which is an even better option. Contrary to your negativity, his post is quite relevant since your inquiry is not a good idea. Personally I run oem 17's which can be had very cheap here or on ebay.

Also the deviation between tires is not related to the OEM size. It will only effect speedo, not VDC. VDC is activated when going past a 3% deviation between front to rear sizes.
