Unhappy Tire Help.....

Ok, this goes out to all you G Gods and experts out there...as my ignorance in wheels will become very obvious.

I blew out my rear OE 18's a while back and replaced them with Pilot Sports A/S <--there's the catch).

Well no one realized that Michelin does not make the A/S series in 225/45 18 for the front. So guess what, now I need front tires....Can I put the 225/40 or 235/40 18's on there. I called Michelin and they stated that if I used the 225/40, the overall diameter would be changed from 25.8 to 25 thus a .8 change. Is this an acceptable change?? Of course ,anyone else that I ask like Michelin or Tire dealers..the reply is going to be "no, don't mix...get all new 4 tires and get us a nice commissions for the day"....I just don't really have the funds to go buy a set of new pilots right now. If I don't have to I'd rather get the A/S as the threadwear is great and so has the handling on the rears.

So question is....am I screwed and get all new OE tires all around and match the treadwear or dare I mix (summer OE front) WITH (All Season OE rear).
