Guys, I just had a shop install 25mm Sumo Power hub centric wheel spacers on the stock 19" rear wheels only of my 2005 G35 6mt coupe and it looks fantastic but I have some questions and concerns:

- Steering is harder than before and tends to steer a bit to the centre line faster when taking the hands off wheel.
Can the fact that back wheels sit wider cause front tires or steering column to wear out faster or damage them?

- Is it safe, could there be any understeer issues at high speed?

- Should I add front wheel spacers and if so 15mm or 20mm to compensate the rear 25mm?

I currently have Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25V 225/45/R19 on the fronts and 265/35/R19 on the back wheels. Because the front wheels diameter is wider (45's instead of 35's like the back wheels) is the main reason why I opted to put spacers on back wheels only to avoid any friction or hitting the body.

Did you get an alignment after you put them on? Spacers are put on most of the time for looks, to make the wheels look more flush. I don't think there's any performance benefit or drawback associated with them. Lots of people including myself have put them on with no problems. You probably don't have to worry about the wheels hitting the fender unless you're dropped, at which point you would have to roll your fenders.

If you want to make the fronts match up with the flush look of the rear, get 20mm spacers. I have the 20/25 setup on the OEM 18" wheels and they look great. I probably could have gone 25/30 but whatever. lol

I got the 2 rear Blizzaks 2 weeks ago and had an alignment done then which was before the spacers so no not after. Just want to make sure if it's recommended that I put spacers in fronts as well before I fork out for another alignment again.

It doesn't really matter, it's all a matter of preference. It won't hurt your car but it won't help it (besides the flush look).

Why did you have a shop install those for you??

Had it done at the shop for $30 instead of spending an hour bent over and making a mistake as I don't have pro equipment like a torque wrench. Didn't want any lug nuts come lose...

So no safety issues then, but don't race car drivers use wheel spacing to compensate understeer/oversteer issues when cornering?

Im thinking the wider track at the rear is giving u the snap steering effect.

Yes and now having experienced it would not recommend putting spacers on rear wheels only. The G35 has top handling and this kills it so I just ordered a set of 20mm's for the front to compensate.

I've been running 20mm spacer adapters for over 6 years now. First 20mm spacers and now 25mm 5x120 adapters. Never had any issues with them and my car looks much more aggressive.

I ran 20mm on the black set of wheels and 25mm on the ADR BMW Wheels.
I prefer the 20mm ones better. 25mm are flushed out and I have a slight dent in my front fender cause it's too flush. The 20mm spacers fit perfectly.

Gen 35 uneed to get specifics from this shop. Most of them use impact guns. My ichibas came with a sticker on the wrapper that said do not use an impact gun. The proper way is to secure with a click wr3nch at 80ftlbs. I know u mentioned a torque wrench but did u instruct and watch them use one? U dont want lug failure.

Click wrenches r 20 bux at harbor freight and down to $10 with a coupon. A tool thats nice to have as well.
