I really like the look of deep dish blacked out rims but the ones I'm looking at (xxr 521 Matt blacked out) don't come in 19" and 20" are too big for me since I enjoy the slammed looked. I was thinking of getting 18"s but I read around and people seem to think that they are too small and look odd. What is your guys opinion?
Also would I need front spacers for brake clearance because I'm running brembos.

Thumbs up To each his or her own

I know you value the opinions of others on this forum but, when it comes to modding my coupe, I go with what I like and looks good to me. I have 20's on my coupe and they look damn good on it. Others say 20's are too big some say they fit just fine. I've seen 18's on coupes and the way the owner put it together, some look hella good and some don't.

What I'm trying to say is go with what you feel and what you like. Value your opinion more than someone else's and let your taste shine through. Some people are going to like what you've done and some won't (but who cares). The bottom line is. It's your thing do what you want to. I can't tell you who to sock it to. One more thing...enjoy modding. Brooks out.

VERY well put, couldn't have said it better (or nicer) myself. OP do your thing and don't worry about what other people think of your ride. You know what they say about opinions and what they're like, right?

Opinions?

My first set of Volks were 18" and didn't like the look, (costly mistake) my second set are 19" and like them way better...ride isn't as nice and 19" tires cost considerably more! So what it comes down to is what you like and can afford! A word of advice, be cautious with offsets....Gary

just look at lots of pictures and find out the specs and suspension setups til you figure out the sizes that will give you the look you want. Luckily the interwebs has lots of pics of any setup imaginable.

I would have to agree with Jerseytaylor though save up and get something quality bro.

18s with lip with make the wheels look 1 inch smaller. that's why they usually don't flow very well and look too small. I suggest atleast 19s if ur gonna rock a lip. only cars that can rock 18s with a lip is very low cars. that's the only way its gonna look good

Lol maybe. I enjoy the look also but won't ever do it. It'll make my daily driving too difficult. I hope he's careful n doesn't think jus becus a wheels looks good on a slammed g it'll also look good on a mild drop or stock g lol.

Ah true I guess we should specify that one should have the car laid on its nuts or else just go with concave wheels or bigger wheels.

I am going to slam my car for a while, (no idea how long, probably until I get tired of it). but if the look doesn't go well with just lowered stance than maybe I should take a pass for future reference.

Slamming your car on 18's is a COMPLETELY different affair than slamming your car on 19's. I know it's the E-cool thing to be and trying to get a car on SuperDopeFlush Stance Gang Slammered Twerky website as a feature car is cool and all, but you really need to do the research before you hop into something like that. It's expensive to do it right and VERY expensive when it's done wrong.

Here's slamming on 18's and dish for your viewing pleasure.

Notice how low the body of the car is. And, this is after raising it a bit because the rear tires rubbed. If my wheels weren't so wide, it'd be lower. do you REALLY wanna be bout dat life?

Here's 19's. Notice that Ian's old car has a mud guard and that's why it looks as low as it does in the front. But, check the rest of the side skirt, you will see OODLES more clearance than I have.

Way better ride homie.
