Anyone have their Volks repaired?
Hi, ive already tried searching about this but without much luck. My Volks have a long rash along the outer rim and im looking to get it repaired. The only recommended shop around here was in stanton (wheels america/fixrim.com). According to them and what I have read myself, the Volks are not aluminum. The lips are made of anodized plating and therefore I quoted $250+ for rechroming. I know this is pricey but the thought of a rash halfway around the rim haunts me and im willing to spend however much it takes. Does anyone know any other shops around the LA area that can repair volks? most that ive contacted said they dont even touch them
Well there isnt any shop in the US that would be able to duplicate the anodized color on the volks.. so no matter how much u pay it still wont be the same.. although it'll probably look better than what they are now. I have a small curb on mine too but I decided to leave it because every place i called told me that it will not look the same, even if repolished/chromed/or whatever. Many people have tried wheels america and there are a lot of good and bad stories. But I dont think they would be able to match the rim either, even if they say they do. Anyone else have any info?
Dude I curbed my 19'' Volk Racing SF Challenges - Mercury Silver --Right Rear about 8 inches.. I found a shop in Beaverton Oregon that repaired the wheel to factory specs and for only $85 while I waited. There is no way you can find where the repair was done.. The shop works on mostly high end wheels. Skip's Wheel Werks... Great guy and great work! I am so happy that I got that darn rash fixed...

. thats really cheap, wheels america is charging me $250 to have it redone. i should have them back by tonight and i'll see how the repair went. mine are sf-challenges also, and my rash is halfway around the wheel

i ended up getting $100 knocked off because they delayed the repair for half a week. im fairly impressed with the repair. the curb rash has disappeared but it feels a little rough when i run my finger over it (not visible though). i was worried about the finish also but i cant tell the difference from the other wheels. minor microscratches here and there but nothing too visible, probably already there when i turned the wheel in. overall im very satisfied with the repair
