Chrome Wheels Leaking

Hello everyone. I have 20 inch TSW Stowe wheels on my g35 coupe. Recently I have noticed my front wheels leaking so I took it to Costco. The chrome finish on the inside of the wheels are flaking and need to be ground down. Costco ground down the flakes and put bead sealer but the problem has come back. I went to a few shops and they said they will grind all of the bead part on the wheel. The problem is that the corrosion can spread to the front side of my wheel. The guy at the shop couldn't guarantee how well the wheel will look on the outside, which makes me very nervous.

I called a person around St. Louis and he said that he will grind it down and put a primer finish on the inside of the wheel. This will prevent any further corrosion and should last a very long time. Problem is that he has been doing it for 6 months and doesn't know the length of time the seal will last. He said he would charge $75 per wheel.

What should I do about these wheels? Any suggestions are appreciated.

You have two choices grind/paint the wheel that's leaking yourself or pay this guy to do it for you. Once it's fixed start looking for a new set of wheels, what you have sounds like a never ending headache. Check our Marketplace under Private Classified for a set of used wheels. As a rule they're sold half of retail and many come with tires...Gary

I agree with Gary. It's your best route.
