Stretch Tires on a 16X14 Wheel...

I know I'm a noobie on this, but I saw some steel wheels that are 16x14 for $60. The seller haven't got back to me about the offset, but it looks to be a sick offset just by being 14" wide. If I was to stretch some tires on them wheels, what would be the best fitting and still stay within the radius of my current setup of 215/55/17?

I'm looking to be getting my 2004 G35x dropped on some Eibach springs soon. The picture of the wheels that I am planning on picking up is below. Please advise on the tires setup and comments if it's a waste of time and effort on the wheels or not. Thanks in advance.

If the offset is low enough that the wheels are able to fit on the inside without rubbing, you will have some serious poke on the outside. Offset wise, on a wheel that wide you'll need some serious negative offset, I'd think you would want something in the -25 range or so.

You'll need a pretty wide 16 if you're going to have any hope of mounting the tire. I would assume you might be able to get a 245/50/16 to mount on the wheel, but I honestly have no idea. They're a little shorter than stock tires but the selection is really slim around those sizes and a 245 is going to be hella stretched on a 14" wheel so I'd imagine going narrower is out of the question.

You will have massive poke with the wheels and a 14 inch wide steel wheel is going to be obscenely heavy. These wheels will look something like this stance wise:

Personally, I think that's about the worst possible wheel you could put on a G35. These wheels were likely designed to be a race wheel, some low budget "stock car" type class. They're designed to fit a racecar with a lot of sticky tire, be very durable, and very cheap. They were never intended to be attractive, or lightweight, or efficient, or go on a luxury import car, but to each his own.

If you do it, you definitely have to post some pics.

Thanks Pdexta. Yeah, I was thinking that it would be a bit too wide and didn't want the lowrider look to it. I might call and have a test fit before purchasing it. Sure don't want a lowrider look like in the 1980's.

You're wasting your time test fitting those. The offsets look like they're deep in the negatives. They'd NEVER fit your car even if they were positive offsets.

Yeah they seem to look nice and cheap for $60. I was looking for something around 10"-12" wide and ran across them. I have decided to pass on them since they are impractical for my ride. Thanks for the quick feedback.
