Tire Opinions - Hankook Ventus V12

Hi everyone!

I'm ordering tires and need to know what you guys think about the Hankook Ventus V12s.

I see they have a lot of good reviews but I want to know what the community thinks of them and if they are worth putting on my 2004 G35 Obsidian Black coupe that is running on the stock 18s. I'm looking at running 255 fronts and 285 rear.

They're a decent tire for the price, but I never liked their soft sidewall.

I would rethink your tire sizes if you're running OEM 18x8s

As for the Hankooks, I liked them when I had them. Very nice street tire but herrschaft is correct, they do have a soft sidewall which makes the car lean into the corners more.

Forget anything Hankook, go with Michelin Pilot Super Sports! UTQG 300 which will give you 30K miles of wear and they'll never let you down! Check with www.thetirerack.com for best price (wholesale) and quick delivery...Gary

I just tested mine out a few minutes ago

Tons of fun with the necessary control for cornering. Holy hell were my old tires bad (and the winter tires were like riding on clouds)

They're a little too soft for me. If u look on onlinetires.com u can see the UTQG rating telling how long each tire lasts. I'm switching from Hankook to Achilles

I really liked the idea behind these.. plus they are non-directional and could be swapped over for increased mileage or something like that!

+1 Michelin for Michelin Pilot Super Sports if you're willing to pay for it. I used them on the Nurburgring and the grip is phenomenal for a street tire. There's a reason why it's the standard street tire for the Nurburgring.

To be honest, if you live in wet weather and never track or canyon carve, you'll probably never get you're money's worth out of the Michelin PSS as they will never reach optimum grip temperature in normal street driving. Just last week, I drove my friends RSX Type-S on the Nurburgring for a few laps in pouring rain with the Michelin A/S 3's and definitely a believer. I can honestly say that it grips better in the wet than a lot of cheape tires in the dry. Sensational.

Me driving the RSX in the rain on the 'ring.

Soft? Our G35s need grip, the Michelin Pilot S/S have a UTQG of 300 that's good for 30K miles of trouble free wear! I've run all the major brand tires from GoodYear, Stones and many others over the years Michelin has never let me down...all the others have!
