Michelin Pilot Sport or Michelin Pilot MXM4?
Michelin Pilot Sport or Michelin Pilot MXM4?
Hi all, Let me start out by saying yes I have used the search function. I've done exhaustive research, but still feel I need to post here.
I'm in need of new back tires. I've narrowed my search down to the Michelin Pilot as those seem to be very well liked tires especially on the G35. I'm looking on Sams club's website and I see the Pilot Sport A/S 3 96Y for $180 a pop with a 45k mile warranty and then I'm looking at the Pilot mxm4's 95v for $225 a pop with a 50k warranty. My question is which one do I want to get. I almost first want to go with the first option obviously because of the low price, but should I spend $45 extra and get the mxm4s? I always hear people say the more you spend on tires the better, but I don't want to spend money I don't need to if I can get tires that will work for less.
Thanks and if I left anything out, please let me know.

Really shouldn't mix either one with a different model/brand/etc as handling can be quite unpredictable depending on the tires involved.
The AS3's are better in dry/wet/steering response but will wear faster compared to others and don't do that great in snow/ice. MXM4's are an average at best touring all season. They really don't do anything stellar and usually only purchased as an oe replacement.
