shop I took my car to was not willing to roll rear fender for fear of doing any damage. car is a 2005 coupe in mint condition and they were worried about cracking paint even with rolling tool and heat gun. this is a shop I have been going to since 2003.
current wheel/tire setup is 19x9.5, +19, 245-35 and 19x10.5, +19, 275-35. running Conti DW which tend to run a little narrow for this size.
car sits on 350Z RS*R Ti2000 springs which drop car approx. 1 inch front and rear.
have absolutely no rubbing issues with this current setup and car appears to have a good .5 inch or more it could come down to have a little nicer stance.
want to know if I lower car a little more...say .5 inch, would I have any rubbing issues? so a 1.5 inch drop all around with no fender roll.
not looking to go really low or get slammed and coils are out of the equation here.
just want to know if anyone has a similar setup and can provide some feedback.
thanks in advance.

As long as you understand paint cracking is a risk of fender rolling, I'd have them do it anyway. That seems like a standard line "we're not responsible for cracked paint." Probably from a few complainers over the years that demanded the shop repaint their quarter panels.
I have 20x10.5, +22, 285-30 tires and rubbed on hard turns before getting the rear rolled and I'm only lowered 3/4" on OEM Z springs.

Have you tried rolling them yourself? It is understandable that there is a risk, if you talk to them and agree, maybe they can pull it off for you.
I rolled my rear fenders myself without the paint cracking.
currenlty lowered on coupe's Teins S-Tech running 20x10 in the rear (245/35r20 tires).

I understand they do not want to take on the liability and also risk losing a good long term customer. they have serviced and help modify my cars for well over 10 years and have managed to keep all of them in like new condition. they know I would be upset if the paint cracked.Originally Posted by LoSt180

well, that is a much bigger wheel/tire combo than I have now. I am no where near rubbing with my current setup. that is why I felt it could come down another .5 inch.
was just looking for someone with a similar setup without a fender roll.
thanks much.

trust me. if I tried to do it, I am sure to do some kind of damage...butterfingers here. would only want someone with experience and proper tools to handle it.Originally Posted by Jusseth

Yea camber in n away from fender . When Ur driving the suspension is Constantly going up n down so if Ur not rubbing on Ur current set up Ur good to go on height adjustment. Now if u got wider bigger tires that changes things

I'm also on 20x10.5 rears w/ 285x30R20. Lip roll 45 degrees, Lowered 11/4. 3/4 S-Tecs, and 1/2 rear shock mount mod. No issues. Going down another 1/2 soon. I'll post results when I do.
I am really trying to avoid the rear fender being rolled and will most likely just drop it and see what happens. can always go back to the old setup. there just appears to be plenty of room to drop and not rub. guess I will find out.
what would be most helpful is hearing from someone who has their coupe dropped approx. 1.5 inch all around with a similar wheel/tire setup as posted in my original post and no fender roll. what is their experience with rubbing or not.

your specs are very similar to mine. except im running a 285-35 out back. im dropped a good bit more but a roll imo will definitely be needed. im assuming you have stock camber arms back there as well

im at -2.8 camber out back. ideally, one of these days i will pull the fender a bit and try to run less camber. but for now im happy. up front theres a 20mm spacer just to get it a bit more flush

On my 2003 6mt coupe, running Volk GT7 18/9+43 front (15mm spacer) 235/40/18, 18/10 +44 rear (25mm spacer) 275/35/18. MkIV Supra fitment wheels.
Sitting on bilsteins and eibach pro kit for a 350z.
No rubbing whatsoever. In fact I need more spacer up front to even it out.
Now when I had a flat and put on the 19" Rays in the rear with the 25mm spacer, with a 245/45/19 tire, I was pretty much on the lip.
That is the reason I borrowed a fender roller, and bought a heat gun. Still have not used it yet, but mainly borrowed it bc I want to go up in tire size on the 18s.. probably 245/45 up front and 275/40 in the back.
Still, on the current setup I have never rubbed..hard cornering or no..
