One rear tire excessively worn

So I just bought a set of used wheels and tires, and the rear passenger side tire is at about 3/32-4/32 (25%) tread life left, while the driver's side is at about 7/32 and the two fronts are at about 5/32. Wear is all over the place.

Would I be okay with replacing just the one worn tire? If I do, should I get the new tire shaved to match tread depth of the other one?

Am I at serious risk of losing control/traction for as long as I'm driving with that worn tire? p.s. It's going to be pretty much dry and warm where I live for the next 8 months.

if you cant afford it then i would just get enough to get you by i guess, but i would just replace both.

There's a right way, replace both rear tires or buy a used tire in hopes they will wear out together!

Rears need to match in rolling diameter, so if you're going used find one with near 7/32 don't go new

Personally, I wouldn't much want to buy a new rear simply to shave it to match. I've heard of people doing this for AWD platforms but if only to match a single other tire, I'd prefer to match them.

Cost permitting, replace both rears and maybe hold onto the higher tread tire as a spare/extra, should you ever need one. Otherwise, you may consider looking into used tire options to try to get something with comparable wear, you may be able to match the same model via companies like www.atlantistire.com or www.bestsocaltires.com

Handling wise, I wouldn't really foresee any issues with a normally driven vehicle however be aware of possible mechanical strain - I'm not sure how sensitive the G's differential is to this sort of difference.
