Custom work on the stock 19" rays??

I absolutely love the rays on my athens blue 06 g35, I don't know if people have done it or not, but has anyone ever gotten the stock rays widened? and at how much cost do you think that work would cost? I want to be able to get the stock rays in the back to near a 285 tire, and i'd probably leave the front, or put the rears in the front and then get the fronts worked on to be wider. I just want to know if it's possible to do this.

i paid 900$ to have mine widened to 10.5 rear and 9.5 front. running a 285/35 in back and 255/35 up front. this price also included refinishing the wheels. there are only a handful of places that do it. weldcraft is in michigan, the place i took it to is called green's wheel repair in richmond canada. they work on widening race car wheels so i trusted them. the welds look good.

Dang, that's pretty cool. You probably need decent sized spacers to make them flush?

I'm going to assume the disks have been left alone, which would put them at roughly 19x9.5 +67 and 19x10.5 + 83?? Those numbers can't be right lol

correct, the offset is now crazy high, but the only thing that matters in regards to having it sit flush is the distance from the the mounting disc to the outside which is never changed because the added band was added behind the mointing point, so a 20mm up front and 25mm in the back is a flush fitment. and the plus side is its basically at stock offset so it shouldnt be any additional strain on the bearings. the only thing that one needs to be weary of is if you have enough clearance to the knuckle arm, which there is plenty of, it barely fits with no spacers, so with a spacer it fits fine

i also have extended lugs and running slip on hubcentric spacers. though i could prob run bigger than 25mm idk how safe that is. not sure how big of a slip on is "unsafe"

I say that slip ons are "safer" than bolt ons, just my opinion though.

I love the new look of your wheels and the DWS6s look good as well but, could you get that car outside and take some pics of it at different angles. This is something I want to do to my factory wheels but, I don't trust many people in Baltimore to do a job like this and I'm way too far from the places mentioned. One thing I will say is that 255s in the front and 285s in the rear on these cars is killer and look beautiful, fit perfectly. That size tire was made for these cars.
