Question regarding an 05 sport suspension

It might have been covered on these forums before, but how is the Sport suspension on a coupe different than the regular ones?? Is it stiffer or shorter? Would it be worth it replacing these springs, and if so, which ones is as stiff or maybe even better than the sport suspension? If someone could briefly answer these Qs, or provide me a link of the thread which this topic was covered, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Just wait for Gsedan's response. He's one of the suspension gurus here. Or if you can't really wait use the Search button (what a novel idea) as this has been talked about before.

Opps, I got caught up on doing other things, sorry.

The 2005 coupe sport suspension is different from any other coupe suspension, this year and all other years as follow.

stiffer shocks
stiffer springs
stiffer sways

When I went and test drove a 05 coupe with the sport suspension, I had the presense of mind to ask the salesman for a tape measure. Coupes with the sport suspension and the regular suspension are exactly the same ride height wise.

On the question of if it would be worth it to replace the springs, I doubt it. But to really know we would have to know how stiff the oem sport supension springs are. Most aftermarket G lowering springs aren't that much stiffer then oem or they resort to using progressive springs. The best spring you can go with would be either Tein H-tech's ment for the Z or RSR springs also ment for the Z. But since you are already stiffer then the regular coupe, the impact of those springs would be less then someone that doesn't have the 05 sport coupe sport suspension. Coilovers, are not a suspension item I mention first thing, but in your case you'll get more out of picking a make and model that meet's your goal (just be carefull and make sure you don't go overboard on stiffness).

I got an 05 and just put the H Techs for the Z and Love them. I did notice a bigger drop than what others reported. The front was closer to .9 and the rear closer to .7 I have less than a 2 finger gap in back and close to that in front. It looks good and the ride to me so far does not feel any different than stock other than the car doesnt feel like a 4x4 anymore. It feels just right and looks just right. I would highly recommend them.

Thanks for your feedback, how long ago did you install those springs? reason I'm asking is because the springs probably didn't settle yet and the ride quality still might change.

yes they are Brand new and I only have about 50-60 miles on them so they probably will change. They feel good so far and hopefully they will not change to drastically.
