T O Y O
Just got off the phone with someone at Nonstop Motor Sports and was quoted a price of $3250 for a set of VOLK SF-WINNING in mercury silver, shipped within 7 days with Toyo Proxy's.
A guy at a tire shop once told me that the Michelon Pilot Sports on my car are the best, but how do the Proxy's stand up. As far as I know they are speed rated.
I feel like this is a great deal! I called another place and they quoted $3060, but said they were back ordered and would not be available for 60-90 days. THAT SUCKS, its Spring weather round here and I'm ready now.
HELP!

I've been driving my Toyo Proxes T1 for a week now, and compared to the stock Michelin pilots, they are the same if not better. You can feel the grip on the road, like your driving on rails. Take my word for it you won't be dissapointed. Plus, i don't know why, but the ride feels smoother, maybe it's because I have more tread on the new tires. car not lowered.

The T1-S, which are to be replaced by the T1-R, are high performance summer tires.
The Proxy 4's are more of a performance all-season tire.
Kind of comparing apples to oranges. Depends on what you are looking for.

Got the T1-S, amazing tire. Good in rain, has lasted 2 years with low wear, immediately improve traction, and not to mention they look good too. I also like the lip on the edge to protect the wheels a bit.
As far as in weather, well here in CT i take them off in october because it isn't necessarily the snow that only makes a difference it is the cold temperatures of the road. In cold temperatures summer tires lose traction. I go to all seasons or full winters from october-april here. So it depends on how your roads get. I was in savannah, GA for 4 years and I would have left them on there all year round if that is any comparison to you.

in south carolina, the weather does get pretty bad, at times. i live in nc, and i went with the proxes 4. did not regret it. of course, i paid less than $200 per tire. but i didn't want to have to worry about my tires being able to handle the conditions of the road. they are categorized as a ultra-high performance all-season tire. the handling is awesome. it's all personal preference - trial and error.
