Lugs, wheels question

I mounted up my 19's myself and had a question due to my paranoia.

So, teh gentlemen who sold me the wheels game me lugs with the wheels. Real nice guy, but I am a paranoid type. So.. I mounted the wheels, everything feels fine. No vibrations nothing. If I used a lug that was too long what would be the ill side effects? And since I ahve no symptoms does that mean that everything else is okay as well?

put on 25 miles and check the lugs, 100 miles & check, 500 miles & check... I think you'll be fine, but it only takes a second to see if the lugs are spinning off.

no its very normal the first time, in fact its so normal its suggested... I probably should've clarified that better. If you find it happening again, you might have a problem.

pointman- I check after 5miles and after 25-30miles. Usually by then the lugs will not loosen.
I check the lugs on occasion, but historically I have not had any lugs
loosen after the 25-30mile check.

Your first question about using longer lug nuts. that's fine. some lug nuts are longer
because some cars have longer lug studs than others. Also people using longer
lug studs to accomondate wheels spacers will need to have longer (deeper)
nuts when using their factory wheels or wheels with offsets that do not require the spacers.

Make sure the lugs have the proper grade seat slope, it should match up with the slope on the wheels. For reference I think our stock wheels and lugs have 60 degree lug seat slope...

You may want to think about investing in a torque wrench. That way you can tighten to the correct ft. lbs.

Check this out for your reference. our cars use the tapered one.

how much torque do you have on your lugs? I usually use ~80ft/lbs.
