I've owned tires by both manufacturers myself but those models and not for the G so I can't give you specifics. However here is my experience with these tires which were for my '93 MX6. the BF Goodrich TA ZRs I had gave amazing grip and lasted quite well too. The bad part was quality control. I had to have 3 of them replaced for defects after 1-2k and after about 60-70% of tread life gone they were terribly noisy.
The Toyo Proxys VRs I had were an average tire all around. Not as grippy for all out handling but good in rain but surprisingly did not last as well as BF Goodrich.

Hopefully someone will give you something on the specific tires you're looking for.
