350z springs

For those of you that have dropped your car with the 350z springs, how noticable is the drop? I also heard there are no camber problems at all with this setup.

No problems with camber, alignments within oem spec. The drop is exactly 1/2 in., and is noticable, but only to the person who stares at their car everyday(like me). It does make the car look better, but still looks stock. I think it's a good comprimise if you don't wan't to invest in a camber kit. I don't plan on going any lower, but have added swaybars, and will add tokico shocks at some point.

If you're talking about the OEM 350Z springs then they will drop a coupe about 1/2" and a sedan about 1". A lot more noticable on a sedan for sure. I have a set of '03 OEM 350Z shocks and springs on my sedan. The camber is not a big issue since I am right on the outside edge of the factory specs. Just have to get a good alignment to get that toe right or your tires will feather.

Just got my car aligned after the install. I have an 05 sedan with the 05 350Z springs.

Lowered the car EXACTLY 1" up front, and .6" in rear. I love the way it looks, and it rides fantastic!! (still have on the stock 17s). The effects are almost like having on sway bars... the car doesn't lean as much at all, and feels more stable.

My alignment was just done yesterday and the numbers weren't too bad, just some camber adjustments on the rear, but most of the other stuff wasn't adjustable, and they said that it wasn't "tire wearing" issues either. Car drives fine (always did) and I love the results. Good overall choice.

I have 04 Z springs on my 05 sedan and the drop was very noticable and the only specs that my alignment were unable to get in tolerances was my front camber which was just off and shouldnt really cause any increased tire wear....I highly recommend getting the Tokico Dspec for the Z as well they make a huge difference in the handling of the vehicle.....

Deadwrong, Joe:

What was your numbers for the front camber after alignment? Was there like a .3 or .4 difference between the left and right?

Do all years of Z springs fit all years of G (i.e. do 2005 Z springs fit on 2003 G)? Any differences in Z springs from different years?

I have my alignment printout right here...

LF Camber -1.3 (before)
LF Camber -1.3 (after)

RF Camber -1.4 (before)
RF Camber -1.5 (before)

LR Camber -2.0 (before)
LR Camber -1.4 (before)

RR Camber -2.0 (before)
RR Camber -1.4 (before)

I'm no alignment specialist, so I'm assuming all this is usefule to someone (sure isn't to me! lol)

I think that all the springs do fit, but there was a suspension upgrade for the 05 setups (both Gs and 350z). So the ride quality and heights will be different too. From recolection, I believe the previous years suspension actually lowered the car MORE, not the 1" fron and .5" rear that everyone says.

I could be wrong on the heights, but positive that the 05 suspension is much improved.

Joe and Deadwrong, could you please post pics of your drop? I am thinking about the same setup on my G. Thanks.

My sedan has '05 350Z springs with Tokico D-Spec shocks.
You can see some pics in this thread my setup

The supension changes in the Z from '03 to '05 were mainly shocks.
The '05 Z springs may have a slight higher spring rate (not confirmed)

inTgr8r, your G looks sweet. What are your impressions of the ride? How much did the springs actually lower your G? Thanks.

The ride (as far as springs go) is really no different than a sport suspension sedan.
(spring rates are the same)

The Tokicos made a huge difference, better handling & great ride.
Since they work in rebound as well as compression they keep the car better ballanced.

The drop is about 1" all around.
I'll take some measurments & post them later,
you can compare them to your current OEM.
