Curbed my volk!

Curbed my volk!
It has a light 2" curb rash and a little chunk broke off from the initial impact. I would say the piece missing is about the size of 2 M&M's. I haven't been able to find a shop that says they can repair it to new yet. Everyone says they either can't get it polished the same, or won't be able to clear coat it. Does anyone have a shop that has repaired a volk wheel with a polished lip?

You have a few options here. You can have a shop polish down the "rash" and somewhat blend it in (but you'll still see a little dip). That's the easy and cheap way, or you can have a shop weld into the rash, reform it, and then polish the rim. That'll bring it back to new condition, without any signs of repair, but that'll cost you anywhere from two to three times more than a simple polish job. Off the top of my head, a repair of that nature would set you back anywhere from $125-$175 per wheel. The wheels that are tough to repair and or sometimes inpossible are those with "hollow" or rolled outer lips, which makes fixing them a real pain or just plain out impossible. Most of the Volks I have ever seen, have been solid (not the hollow or rolled type) so you should be fine, but I could be wrong. One company that I have worked with with nothing but positive results is Wheel Collision Inc (www.wheelcollision.com). I've never sent them Volks, but they've fixed and refinished wheels such as Centerline, RUFF, and Enkie's for me, all of which you couldnt even tell were damaged. They're located in PA if I remember correctly and they're worth a call. The only drawback, unless you happen to live near them, is you'll have to ship your wheel to them and wait the 7-10 days it'll take to get them back. Give them a call and see what they can do for you...
