VLSD install on A/T G-Sedan?

Has anybody installed an OEM VLSD on their A/T 2003.5 sedan? I am concerned with the RWD's handling deficiencies on snow and ice in the winter here. Would the install be a benefit for that purpose over stock? Are there any weird performance or handling problems that I might need to know about. And...how difficult is the swap?

Thanks much!!

05 sedan's with the sport suspension have VLSD.

Would it be a benefit, that depend's on why you hope to get out of the mod. It's better then nothing, but a good clutch type is much better at limiting slip. Viscous limited slip system's must allow some slip to happen before they will try and lock up and their holding power once locked leaves something to be desired. One thing is for sure DO NOT do the swap unless you find and buy the entire sealed diff pumpkin, should sell for around $500-$650. Do NOT do what I did and find someone selling the viscous core, you'll end up having to pay for new LSD stub axle's ($300) and the cost of installing it all ($400, it is NOT a self install when doing it the "parts" way) plus the price of the viscous core. When you buy the whole entire sealed pumpkin, all you do is unbolt your diff and bolt in the one you bought.

Thanks for the information. The real reason I would even consider it is for increased safety/security in the winters here. You never know what to expect. One year it's real deal snow and ice...the next year, it's like I was back home in Dallas!! I am going from a 4X4 SUV to a rear wheel drive sports sedan, and I am trying not to be too concerned about tht G35's manners or lack of manner in the winter. I actually considered the Acura TL, but it's just too boring and sterile for me.

So, would the swap to a VLSD pumpkin give me what I need as far as increased traction and security in the winter? Oh yeah, did I mention that the car is an automatic with the Sport Package?

I think so. Find a pumpkin out of a A/T car, All A/T Z's are guaranteed to have VLSD. We can't say the same for all A/T G's.
