Re: Factory Chromed Rims?

Yea, my current car has a black dash and the aftermarket alpine radio I added has black chrome accents...it really looks nice in an interior.
I think chrome plated factory wheels are a good idea because for a car this expensive it seems like you would want to keep a stock look while adding a personal touch. My current car I've had for 3.5 years has stock chrome rims and I not only drive in the snow but I park outside and live on a saltwater coast (long island sound). Never had a problem...not matter how dirty the wheels get they clean up nice and easy with basic cleaners.
And nothing turns heads strait out of a carwash like chrome rims!

Re: Factory Chromed Rims?

The literature I received when the new PermaStar wheels were delivered partly answer your questions about corrosion resistance. A table reports on 10 tests. Most of the tests are ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), or General Motors Standards. One ASTM test (ASTMB-117) is for 1,000 hours of Salt Spray. Results = Passed. The other also an ASTM test (ASTM 147-96) is for Florida exposure. The results report as of 165 of 365 days. No degradation. There were no tests concerning road salt. Perhaps this information helps. Here is a link to more information on the PermaStar technology.

Yes -- these are the regular chrome. They do offer a PermaStar Black Pearl which would look great on your ride. I also got the OEM 18' Infiniti rims from them as well. I paid $414 for the rims, and $185 for the PermaStar, or $600 each. The NITTOs obviously were extra.

I bought the OEM rims from them, and the center caps came with the rims.
