Toyo T1R's...Comments???
Looking to buy new tires for my 6Mt and was thinking these would work well. Anybody with thoughts or opinions or Toyo stories saying otherwise. thx

Toyo Works
Toyo tires are great. There great bang for your buck. Expecially The proxies T1-R's. BBUUTT.. If you got the dollors to get better ones. Get the bridgestone S0-3's AWSOME TIRES. I have em on my G. There AMAZING. But again the Toyo's are great tires.

the jury is still out on my T1-R's.

Just put a pair on the rears today. I'll let you know...
IMO and from all the tire guys I've talked to, BFG KDW2's are probably better than the S-03's and cheaper to boot... |
Thanks for all the insight already. I'll try to wait a little longer.

the tires from Toyo, and their captive "street-tuner" tire company Nitto, are a very good value. I presently have a set of Toyo RA-1 and Nitto NT-01 on 18 inch rims, as well as a set of the Bridgestone SO-3 on some 19inch street wheels. The stones are a good tire, but very heavy compared to the offerings from Toyo/Nitto. I would go with Toyo for my next set of street rubber.

I've had my T1R's on for about a month now. They took longer than I thought to break in, but so far so good. Pretty happy with'em.

Absolutely brilliant on my WRX once broken in

I just got T1-Rs, just how are you guys "breaking them in"?

But seriously, I think Toyo puts some kind of protectant on the tires that needs to wear down before you really feel them grip the road. My VDC was coming on a lot during intial usage on sharp turns. |
I've had my t-1r's for about a month because I got a blow out on the freeway hitting a metal thingy in the road. Took out my t-1s so I bought the new. Smoother, quieter and seems like the traction is the same. Better tire then previous.

My VDC came on today when I was just taking a medium curve on the highway. Pretty ghey, but hopefully it won't happen again. So how many miles are you guys taking to break in these T1-R's? Mine are in the rear, btw...
