19" staggered set-up qestions.

Hey guys i got a Few Question i would like to ask
I am looking into buying Ruff Racing 278 19x8.5 Front 19x9.5 Rear with the Staggered Set-up
and was wondering a few things.
1. What Bolt Pattern and offset do i need for my 2004 G35 Sedan?
2. I am lookin at the 235/40YR19 Tires for the Front and 255/35YR19 In the Rear, Is this a correct set-up for the tires?
3. Any idea on how the ride noise and comfort will be on these tires?
4. And finaly does anyone Have this set-up, how do you like it and do you have any pictures you can post for me to see??

Thanks A Bunch everyone who response!!!

Jase

Jase...

1a) Your bolt-pattern is 5x114.3mm

1b) Offset on FRONT should be between 30-35mm, REAR should be 40-45mm

2) 235/40 for FRONT is ok...but REAR should be 255/40 or 265/35...255/35 will be too short

3) Noise will depend on which tires you go with...comfort will deteriorate slightly due to 2 things: 1) less sidewall (obvious) 2) heavy wheels = more unsprung weight = suspension working harder = slightly "bumpiness"

4) Nope...sorry

Hope that helped a bit ^-^

I disagree with the offsets you suggested. +30mm front and +40 mm rear are not correct.

For 8.5 in the front +38mm is optimal, although you can go as low as +35mm. Also, consider a 245/40 or 245/35 tire for the front.

For 9.5 in the rear +45 is optimal.

Just remember that the lower the offset number the closer to the fender your tire will be. Go too low and your bound to rub.

Offset

i gotta agree with Cru,

with +30 at the front and +40 offset at the back and those rims size..
they are going to stick out..

Hey thanks for the great feedback guys. Just wondering now.... if i didnot do the two different size rims ( none staggered setup) and went to just 20", Going to a lower offset in the back rims. Would that make the back tires look a lil more beefy??

No, because with a non-staggered set-up you would have only an 8.5 wheel in the back. A 20" wheel would have no bearing on the width of your tire in the rear. If you are looking for wide tires in the rear stick with the staggered set-up and go with 9.5 in the rear. Also, when looking for tires remember that the first number in the tire size is the width (in mm) of the tire. So 245/40/19 would be 245mm wide.

Find the wheels you want, then find out what offsets are available for those wheel. Once you have that info, you can post and we can let you know if they will fit.
