Tires/continental
Tires/continental
I would like to get new tires plus wheels. Wheels i have no problem with Tires either if I want to spend the $$$.
What about the continental sports ? are they really that bad according to all these reviews i read. The price cant be beat at $135.00 each for 225 45 18. Any input or experience with these tire would be appreciated.
Re: Tires/continental
I never had them on my car, but I've seen it on other people car's. Up close they look funny, like the tread goes beyond the sidewalls. Otherwise you can't beat that price.

Re: Tires/continental
Can you tell me what size you used up front on the stock 18" wheels?
They don't sell a 225x45x18, but a 225x40x18, and tirerack states it does not meet LOAD requirements.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Tires/continental
I apologize about the lack of clarity in my last email.
I am referring to the Conti Extreme Contact A/S. Looking to get A/S performance tires and no one makes the 245x45x18. Tire rack said if I use the 245x40x18, it does not meet the load requirements. Thanks for any input.

Jim,
first you mentioned 225's now 245's which one is it.
If the load requirement is only off a little like say 50 pounds or so per tire thats not a big deal and is acceptable. Tire rack is just saying that to protect themselves.

Re: Tires/continental
Sorry - I am concerned about the fronts which should have stated 225's...
So, I am assuming that the 225x40x18 for the front (versus 245x45x18), and 245x45x18's in the rear with Conti Extreme Contact's should work and not be that big of an issue with the load rating. I also agree, and appreicate your feedback.
