what else should I do?
what else should I do?
'05 G35 Coupe 6MT (i.e. factory sport suspension)
Tein Basic Coilovers, lowered about 1.1" front, 0.9" rear
BFG KDW Tires, 255/35-19 front (on a 9.5" wheel), 285/35-19 rear (on a 10.5" wheel)
my question is what, if anything, would round-out/balance these suspension mods? I don't road race the car, it's 100% street driven. I'm much more of a powertrain guy than a suspension guy so I don't really know how to "feel" what may or may not be missing... On my Supra, along with coilovers and a lowering of the ride height I did swaybars and bushings and the overall effect was dramatic -- the car takes corners like a go cart, zero body roll, if anything it slightly "skips" sideways if the pavement is rough. In reading on this forum though, I haven't seen anything conclusive about what swaybar combination is considered to positively improve performance in a street environment. I've seen some suggest that the front OEM swaybar is good enough and that you'd only need a rear... i've seen others suggest that going to stiffer swaybars will actually hurt cornering by completely eliminating roll/weight transfer... Its almost as if there's the question of whether you want the car to "feel fast" through a turn or actually be fast... but again, I'm not a suspension guru...
any comments from those with real experience would be greatly appreciated!! (ie. please refrain from the "I read that swaybars are a good thing to do but I don't actually have my driver's license or a car yet"
)Thanks,
Jeff
