Wheels size = bigger lip?

Does getting 9.5 front 10.5 back give you a bigger lip then say 8.5 front 9.5 back? or how does it work?

The width doesn't matter that much. It's the offset that counts.I have a 8" rim in the front with 3" lip & 10" rim in the rear with 4" lip. When rims are made to order they can make the right offset to fit the car with max lip. Most rims off the shelf can't do that, but some can.

so why do some people get 9.5/10.5 instead of 8.5/9.5 , just because they want a wider tire width?

^ yes, and to bring them more out towards the fender. kinda like a flush look. stock, or too far in towards the center of the car looks hella weak.

in regards to the topic. exactly what caskyline typed. it depends.

slikster818: the reason is the offset Axis made the rims in. if i'm not mistaken, Axis doesn't make made to order/custom offsets.
