Toyo T1R review

I finally decided to put my 0.02 abut T1R. I had about 3000 km on them, or about 2 months.
Conclusion-this is awesome tire, well worth the money and it suits G35 character really well.
It is quiet, sticks very well wet and dry and comfortable. Car with it has that "road hugging" ride. I was commented on cool look too I believe fuel economy went up a bit as well(I noticed that with FZ4 a while ago too-prolly less rolling resistance)
One drawback-they take much longer than usual to break in-I was even disappointed at first with performance, but it quickly went away. I autocrossed them too.
I am running slightly higher than stock pressure-about 35 psi, but they are lower profile than stock tires, so it is necessary.
I got mine at $250 CAD each +tax in 225/45/17. They are probabaly slightly cheaper for our US neighbours. For stock 17" I suggest 235/45/17-they will fit just fine without looking squeezed. (That's where I made mistake-oh well!)
Bottom line-get them!

That's true about the break-in, took me more than 1500 km before VDC stop acting strange. They are matched with the OEM pilot in front.

yes, T1R's are bada.ss. i ripped the crap out of my friends coupe and noticed how much more i could push the car. it's like on rails or something. i took several cut offs that were just shy of 90 degress with no sense of slipping at all.

These tires are pretty good, but they're noisy. The old T1-S was quieter.

I totally agree with you, I had my for a few weeks now. They are noisy and gives a slight roar at highway speeds. I would not get them again when they wear out. Gotta start saving for PS2s now

i'd rather have performance over sound/luxury if i was modding my car. toyo's, bridgestones, and bf's are on the noisy side.

I'd have to say that they are not that spectacular. They're good, but I've had much better tires in the past. Stuff like Dunlop SP Sport 9000 and BFG KDW.
