Hey guys, im gettin some 19x8.5 with 20 offset, 19x9.5 with 30 offset the rims are RPM 505, are the offset ok to clear 14'' BBK? i talked with RPM directly and thats what they recommended Any inputs about the offsets is appreciated. thanks.

 

Offset is not related to brake clearance.

 

oh then what determines, brake clearance i thought it was offset... i might be wrong

 

Honestly there are many factors that determine wheel and brake clearance, the offset, disk type, caliper size and shape, etc all play a part. you could get a 19x8.5 with a 10et and still have issues clearing if its not the right pad type.

derrick, cool thx, i appreciate all insight in gettin the right rim. though im not gettin an expensive rim like volk, or dpe, hre, etc. i still need help in deciding what offset i need to clear specifially Rotora 14'' or 13'' BBK. The rims i want to get, though cheap, are RPM 505, u can get their info at http://www.rpmwheels.com/ so with 19x8.5F-20 19x9.5R-30offset BBK=Rotora 14'' or 13'' im wondering what other info i need to know if that will clear the BBK...

The ONLY thing that determines brake clearance is the spoke design/face type (also known as disk type, or whatever you want to call it). Offset is merely the distance from the mounting point to the center of the wheel. Two wheels could be the exact same size and offset yet one might clear brakes and the other might not. You'd have to ask the company themselves or anyone else who has these wheels if they will clear the brakes.
