Tire fitment on wheel question

Is it possible to fit a 255/35 or a 255 or 250(if they even make them) width tire on a 19x8.5 inch rim? i currently have 245/35 on my rims, and i am getting plenty of scratches and chunks taken out of my rims from curbrash. I need that little bulge in teh tires to protect the rim. thanks

yes it's possible and will probably create small bulge. My suggestion is to find tires with that lip protector or something rather. I know that Falken tires have them in their sidewall designs.

It'll fit with no problems. 255 is the widest "recommended" width for 8.5" wide wheels.
