255/285 (front/rear), does it work?

I'm looking to go 255/35 and 285/35 if I go with 19s or 255/30 and 285/30 if I go with 20s as this combo is closest to stock diameter without going smaller. I've been doing research and I'm getting mixed messages. That this set-up is possible with a 1" drop and NO tire rubbing as long as I got the RIGHT offset. Is this true? If so, what's the ideal offset range?

I've also read that the 255/285 set-up w/ an 1" drop will cause unpreventable rubbing unless I "roll back the fenders". Is that true?

Post pics if possible. Thanks

I just put on my 20's with 285/30-20 in the rear and 255/35-20 in the front, with Eibach Pro Kit (1.1" Front, 1.0" Rear), I have absolutely no rubbing issues at all, you need to make sure your offset will complement the setup, you just need to talk to your Wheel/Tire center to make sure it is correct

What's the width of your wheels? What are your offsets?

285/35 will work for your rear if the wheel is 19x10.5 and you have the right offset.

255/35 is a little bit aggresive for the front. That's like a 19x9 for the front. If you going to drop your car a lot, it probably could rub. But offsets are key.

I'm on Maya DLS 20x9 30mm front and 20x10.5 26mm rear with 255/30/20 and 285/30/20 lowered on TEIN H Tech springs. No rubbing at all. Actually I'm going to add a 5-10mm spacer for the front. The rear offset is perfect.

Good luck,
Ron
