20" Wheels

I'd like to replace my factory 17" wheels on my G35 Sedan with either 19" or 20" wheels. Can you guys give me some input on the pros/cons as far as ride, handling, etc might be affected? I love the look of larger wheels but don't want to ruin the handling and integrity of my car. Also, can you even fit 20" wheels on this car without serious modification to the suspension?

Thanks!

Re: 20" Wheels

no modifications required in putting a 20" rims... i recommend 225/35-20 because the diameter of the tire will be similar to the original stock rim/tires. lower profile tires will give you better handling but your overall ride quality will suffer. rim/tires that weigh a lot will reduce performance in: acceleration, braking, fuel effiency. try to get aftermarket rims that are light.

Yeah, performance will be affected negatively. Also, watch out for pot holes, tires that low in profile will not protect your rims from damage.

Re: 20" Wheels

Has anyone seen pictures of a G35 sedan on 20" wheels, or is anyone able to photoshop a G35 to make it look like 20"s?

Re: 20" Wheels

here is a reply to your question yes you can put 20's all day long DO NOT PUT 225/35/20 like someone suggested keep in mind that 225mm wide with a 35% side wall is too too close to the ground the set up i have done is 245 35 20
and 275 or 285 30 20 in the rear here is a picture if you would like to run the same width all around then you can go 245/35/20 or even 255/35/20 all around the silver car runs these the black one runs the stagered set up ..

Re: 20" Wheels

Granted I have a coupe with 20's but I have the same staggered set up as well and it's awesome! Everyone that looks at my car thinks I have 19's on and not 20's. 245/35 in front and 285/30 in the rear! Yes very fat!

Re: 20" Wheels

Everybody says my 20's look like 18's or 19's too. The wheel wells are so big on these cars, they just swallow 'em up!
