rim chrome peeling what do i do ahh

hey guys i have zenneti chrome 20 inch staggerd fives

on the spot where my spoke meets my lip my chrome is peeling off. its spearding by the day and zenneti does not want to replace them under warrenty because i have very minor curb rash.

i dont know what to do and i cant afford another set of rims or to rechrome these. does anyone have any suggestions on a cheap alternitave. some touch up paint or sealer to stop the damage. i know its chrome so you cant powder coat it but what can i i possibly do im young and not in the best financial state to do anything drastic.

Have you sent any photo to this company. Maybe then they can decide whether to warranty the problem?

Do you have any other rims to put back on your G? If so maybe you can send them the rim so that they can give it a once over and decide to warranty it. If they deny the claim again, demand them to rechrome for a discounted price.

Hope this helps and good luck!!

ya sorry for the double im just desperate and im gettin no feedback.

in order for them to inspect it they need me to pay for shipping and then wait on them to get to it . the turn around time is long. also i have very minor curb rash on the wheel... they said if they see any scratches the warrenty is voided so i shouldnt bother. these wheels were over $3500 and they are no peeling wtf

Life Lesson? Learned by many users of aftermarket chrome oversized wheels.

They probably won't warranty it because the chromer who did the plating for them, won't warranty it. Many chromed items don't carry any warranty on the plating, but that should be spelled out in your paperwork. They are using the curb rash as an excuse, because corrosion will begin at the damage and then travel under the plating, only to pop up at seemingly undamaged places. You're between a rock and a hard place.

Re-chroming it right isn't cheap and I think you should have enough of that. I had a set of those wheels. Chrome peeled off, the shop I bought them from replaced them. Chrome peeled off the second set, got my money refunded. I didn't have any scraches though, I try to drive too carefully for that. If your scratches are not in the same spot as the peeling, I don't understand zenetti not taking care of it. I tell everyone I see not to buy these wheels. Worst I've ever seen. Every person I talked to has problems with them. My advise is save up some cash to buy something better. If that's not your choice, save some money to re-chrome them properly. I don't know where you live but you can call my wheel shop for advice at 954 771-4508 ask for Dave. They're called Goodroads, tell him Reggie sent you.

One problem with having one wheel re-chromed is that there is very little possibility of the finish matching the other three wheels. You'd be better off having them all stripped and then powder-coated. That would be a much more durable finish anyway. Plus, you'll probably have a heart attack when you get the price for re-plating the one wheel.

I told you ebuy929 in your last post that you are cooked..... Don't buy things unless you can afford to have them fixed.... Be wise with your money you are only 18 years old so you will be fine, life is just one big trial and error and us young people including myself are lucky to have advice on here from people much older than us who have already made the same dumb mistakes but can teach us what not to do..

The worst are the jerks off of Flamingo RD AKA Red Road and 826- Palmetto highway, I think the name of the place is wheel kings or tire kingdom...

Not really. The best sealer for chrome plating is plain old car wax. But that has to be used before you have a problem. Most people don't realize how porous chrome really is. It needs to be sealed to be corrosion resistant. Ask a biker with a really chromed out ride and he'll tell ya what a bitch chrome is to take care of.
