Thanks sen... Does a 285 introduce the possibility of rubbing, especially on 20"'s? Or does rubbing come more into play with offsets, or both?

I'm looking for the best of both wheels, Nice and wide, but still tucked in the fender well. Lip side is not crucial to me, I'd be happy with anything over 2.5".

yes, it does. 275/30 would be optimal on 20's and a mild drop such as S-Tech's. however, yes/no, the offset can play a role. however, i don't think you want a wheel that is too far in (riding on stilts), or too far out (drift/jdm style with monster tires). thats just wrong, lol.

if you want 20's, you can run a 20x10.5 and run a 275/30 and tuck them like a nice set of *******. or, you can run a 20x10.5 with a 275/35 tire, and tuck them a tad bit, but with fender rolling.

personally, i'd run the 275/30.

255/30 and 285 or 295/30. 255/285 will be very close to the rolling stock height. My car is stock height (sport suspension) -no fender rolling or rubbing!

JoEY C:

245/35 and 275/35. anymore and your sidewalls will flex like crazy, and you'll hate it.
