Volk gt7 vs Jline 5rl3
Volk gt7 vs Jline 5rl3
I was debating between these two rims but I still cannot decide. What do you guys like. I have a 2004 g35 coupe diamond graphite and was thinking about either the diamond black gt7 or gunmetal with polished lip for the Jline. I'm not sure how the black gt7 will look on my diamond graphite G. I was thinking of getting 19x9.5 for the front and 19x10.5 in the back. I was trying to do research on what offsets to get but not alot of people post that. Also i was thinking for the tires i would get 245/35 for the front and 275/35 for the rear. Do you guys think they will rub? Please post pics if you have any of these rims.
Like the Jlines... few G's rolling on those as opposed to 1/2 the G population rolling in volks. Both are great wheels. Volk is always a top consideration. But personally, I like the Jlines if you can afford the extra hit. Have you considered the SDMSL2?
There are a bunch of posts on the offsets. Plus, if you buy from any decent seller, they will be able to tell you the proper offsets for the rims your considering depending on your setup.
I would think that 275's on 10.5" rears would be okay if you like the stretched look. I would consider 255/285's for your tires. With 19's you should be okay w/ the 245/275 setup. I've had some people tell me that you need to roll fenders if you get the 255/285 setup, but i think it will be okay as well. People have put on 20's with similar specs w/o rubbing. Of course, you need more specifics like brembo's, drop, etc...

I agree with a2ncharm23. The JLines are much more unique. I prefer the 6LR3

Everybody and their mother has the GT-7s (including me...and Tru).

although i agree unique wheels are better, the bad thing about having unique/custom wheels is availability. I have had to wait 4-6 mos for my old set of rays wheels and after 6 mos found out they were discountinued. this was a set of the 57f pro's like last year.
what to do when you have a bent rim and no US distributor has 1 rim in stock?? your totally SOL...therefore I have decided to pick a wheel more popular and available. i was torn between the GT7s BIIG LIP and the sf challenges.....and although you guys are correct stating everyone has GT7s, they are alot less played out than challenges and winnings/gtcs. gt7s are/were more popular w/ the 2JZ guys. in addition alot of you guys w/ gt7s in DB have em on black. I only know of one DG coupe w/ DB GT7s, and no other GT7s in DB on any other color other than black, so it'll be a unique look for my BS.
k67, i think Chris got me 9.5 and 10.5 +24 f/r. He said i cannot run a bbk w/ this setup and I dont plan on it. I'll get 3.7'' lip rear and standard front (said regardless of which offset i choose front lip will be the same). I have always been a fan of contrast when it comes to car/rim color so I hope it'll look good. I also got toyos 245/275 rear and am dropped on 350z h techs. hopefully it'll look good, if not look for a brand new set of GT7s in the classifieds!!
