Balancing Chrome Rims

hey everyone,

Just thought I'd ask to see if anyone had any advice on getting my chrome rims balanced?

I have some 18" Zenetti's and after MULTIPLE balancing from different places they've NEVER ridden right. I've had em regular balanced from the dealer's body shop (not service center - they claim they balance it differently) as well as Hunter road stress balanced (rims and tires specked out A-OK) ... all of them make the car steering wheel vibrate at highway speeds. Is there a trick to doing chrome rims vs. OEM? i dont get why its so difficult to balance these rims.

I was thinking of taking it into Infiniti service or maybe like a shop that specializes in rims or somethin...advice?

Usually with aftermarket wheels you also need hub-centric (centering) rings. Make sure you have those.

Yes this is the first thing I would check. Look for a plastic ring on the hub or in the wheel.

yeah i actually did have those on there...the infiniti guy said our cars are super sensitive and it takes alot to have wheels balanced right on our cars...

Im still baffled at why these things seem impossible to let my steering wheel stop shaking...

Look for a shop that does high speed balancing.

that's probably a really good idea...how fast can a high speed balance machine go? They feel fine up until about 70 mph.

Does anyone know how fast they can spin them?
If so, any reputable franchises like Tire Kingdom or anything like that?
