Tire pressure sensor and non OEM wheels

I am looking to purchase new wheels for my 05 coupe and have tried searching but did not get a clear answer so am asking it here. If I purchase new wheels how will the tire pressure sensors work? (or they won't?) Will I just have to drive around with the tire pressure light on?

Thanks

I asked this question before, and also didn't get the answer from people with aftermarket wheels on. According to my dealer, I do not have sensors in my OEM 18s that I bought used, and my light is usually off. It went on twice during hour long trips, but it is off once you turn the car on again. So to my understanding when all 4 sensors are missing the light is off. Hope somebody verifies this.

I've got an 05 sedan and I haven't had my light come on yet with my aftermarkets.

You can have the TPS removed from your old wheels and put in your aftermarkets.

They might need to be re-calibrated at the dealer for the correct PSI trigger. (Im guessing on this)

the TPS doesn't work with my Volk SF C's, for the first week, the tps would go on and off randomly, now it just stays off. From my understanding, it has something to do with the valve stem of the wheel, but.. not 100% sure. I know that the TPS doesn't work with my volks tho

The TPMS only works with some aftermarket wheels. It all depends on if the TPS sits on the wheel the same as the stocks. If you're lucky they will fit. Most of the time they wont fit though. Most people havent had a problem with their light remaining on constantly so you shouldnt have a problem.

TPS works fine on my RacingHart J5 PRO 19" albeit a bit TOO sensitive. Does anyone know if we're supposed to use the same pressure on aftermarket wheels/tires as the stock?

They are just moved over to the new wheels like my current ones are. Discount took them out of my factory ones and installed them in my new ones.

I'm on my second set of aftermarket wheels. First set were NAD 20" and current set are Volk 19". The shop transferred the TPMS sensors from OEM wheels to each set of aftermarkets. No problems. TPMS triggered once when tire pressure dropped below 29 lbs. due to nail in tire.

I got the dealership to throw on 20" Zenetti 5's on a coupe w/ TPMS and works fine with no issues having the light come on.

Is there is fee to transfer the TPMS sensors at the shop or is it a simple procedure?
