Help G35ers! My Michelin 245 has a nail!

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a really slow leak, so the damn nail is acting as a plug. My tires only have about 15k on 'em! I don't want to buy a new set of rears yet. . .and I sure as hizell don't want to buy a complete new set. Has anyone used any of those "fix flat" instant tire fixers or anything similar with good results? Does anyone have any personal recommendations? I am SOOOOOOOOOOO bummed!

Thx!

-drew-

p.s. I'm loosing about 5 psi per day.

THere is nothing to be bumbed about. Where is the nail in the tire? If it is on the same side as the RIM, you need to get a new tire. If it on the bottom, where the tread is, take it to a 76 gas station and get it pluged. Tell them you have a flat tire and they will take off the wheel, take the nail out, and plug it with tire plug. IT will cost all of 10 dollars to fix. BUT only if its on the same side as the tire tread.

Good luck

If it's on the tread, then you're ok........but use the fix-a-flats only if it's an emergency because they've been known to discolor aluminum wheels.

Wherever you take your rims, make sure they use thin wall sockets to remove your rim........otherwise, they could easily scratch up your lug holes.

Unless it is in the side wall, you can get it patched. I definitely would not get it plugged. Plugs will eventually leak again. Patches are the way to go. Take it to a respected tire dealership and it should only cost $10-15.

Yeah, definately you should never plug a tire unless it's an emergency roadside repair. A proper flat repair involves taking the tire off the rim, patching from the inside, then rebalancing. But get this done as soon as possible, as having a nail in your tire for a prolonged period can destroy it, especially if it's a long nail.

If you live in an area with a Discount Tire Store, they will patch your tire for Zero $. As suggested above, whatever you do "DO NOT PLUG YOUR LEAK" "PATCH IT, FROM THE INSIDE" but, only if the hole is in the tread area. Good Luck.
