Welcome. I hope you don't mind if I put you on the spot by asking you a question . . . What's the real story on G-Games wheels? I really like the Sidewinder, but had to purchase something else because you just couldn't get them for me.

Discount Tires messed up my 19" OEM rim...Went in to get a new tire put on (my right rear tire got a nail on the sidewall). They scratched the rim up so bad, I didnt notice until it was too late to go back and complain. They do not know how to handle higher end rides

Wow Luke you just got hit pretty hard. What are DTD policies on the issues mentioned here. Also I want to know if DTD used plugs or patches on flat repairs? Thanks inadvance.

Luke, according to the DTD web site, the only tires offered as replacements for the staggered coupe OEM 19" are Michelin Pilot. These are great tires, but expensive. DTD offers Continental in 225/40-19 and Falken and Dunlop in 245/40-19. Why not offer more replacement combos?

G-Games

G-Games wheels are very difficult to get from Mackin. We try to keep the more common fitments in stock, but when we run out, we are at the mercy of the vendor to get them to us. We really do try everything possible. I hope we can help you with your next set.......

Discount Tire

Thanks for voicing your concern as everyone of them is taken very seriously. One thing to remember, we are only human and mistakes happen. Our retail stores go through a ton of training and yes, from time to time, they are under a lot of pressure to get the job done quickly and accidents happen. If the store you went to damaged the wheel, I would reccomend bringing it back and speaking with the manager of that store, they will take care of you on a replacement wheel. I would like to assure you, these incidents do not happen often. I can say with confidence that our retail stores are the best at what they do and hopefully one bad experience will not keep you from doing business with us again.

Plugs or Patches

Our retail stores use a combination plug/patch. We follow the rules set by RMA (Rubber Manu. of America). The combination unit has a patch with a rubber plug filler attached to it. The rubber filler(plug) fills in the hole and the patch is vulcanized to the inner liner of the tire to seal it. This is the best possible way to repair a tire. If you don't use the rubber filler and just use a patch from the inside of the tire, air could get into the liner and cause a seperation.

Is this too much info ? Sorry - short answer = Combination plug/patch

Replacement combos

The Michelin Pilot is one of the more expensive tires, but it is one of the few tires that come in both sizes. I only show 1 other tire that come's in both sizes....... Bridgestone Potenza RE050 (which we don't carry). I agree that there should be more options, but the only alternative would be to switch to a larger size. (245/35R-19 and 275/35R-19) which would require larger wheel widths (new wheels)

I've got a question for you...Is it possible to fit a 305/25/20 on a 20X10" rim? I know Falken is coming out with this size and I assume you'll be offering it through DTD. Thanks!

Actuallly, there is another solution. The problem is the availability of the front 225/40/19 tire. The rear 245/40/19 size is readily available. The solution would be to run 245/35/19s in front and 245/40/19 or 255/40/19 in the rear. This would reduce the factory designed in understeer somewhat, make the car a little more neutral handling, it would keep the stagger, and the owner could keep his wheels. IMO, it's a good solution.

Lou

BTW, I've got nothing but good, make that great, things to say about Discount Tire in Tucson. I've been dealing with Tony Serventi, a Senior Assistant Manger, and he has taken great care of me and my equipment as if they were his own. He goes out of his way to make things right and to satisify. And believe me, I'm a hard guy to satisify.
