Yes this is for something more Custom. If your looking to put a regular 7" double din monitor don't bother or waste your time.

^If I could crack the CAN-Bus commands for the HVAC system, I would put a 10" touchscreen in sideways like that.

If your good enough you can put a iTouch in the middle of the dash, will def take fiberglass work. But there's no limits to custom work. If you have the money or skills it can be done.

^First of all, I would sooner smear dog-crap on my dash than integrate an apple product

Ok, iHating over

It's not so much the fabrication, as it is working with the a/c controls.
Granted, I could just get the JDM or Metra board and move them somewhere else, but I would rather be able to actually control the HVAC system from the computer itself. (For which I would have to interface with the CAN bus.

It all can be done, also the AC controll has nothing to do w/ the HU or the iTouch. it's completley seperated.

^You're not getting what I'm saying...

1) The AC control IS integrated with the oem HU, it's all on one board, unless you get the double din (JDM or Metra) then they come with a seperate board for the Ac...

2) I'm talking about the physical space the ac controls take up on the dash. In order to fit a 10" monitor turned sideways, it would take all the space of the area where the radio AND ac buttons are at... so at the very least, the ac controls would have to be moved... personally, I think its dumb to have ac controls stuffed in a glove box somewhere, and would much rather have control of the ac from the in-car computer, but that would require interfacing to the car's CAN system and finding out the proper commands to send the system to change the fan/vent/temp/etc...

Oh ok I understand what your saying, but why deal w/ the entire oem dash kit headache. yes someone did it on the forum a while back. but for the double din AC controll is your best bet. yes it cost a few dollars. but that will save lots of time!

Amazing. Props for pulling that off, I like the way the single din is in place of where the Hazard button & Ash Tray was. But def don't know where the Hazard button and AC control is at now. Also I would of tried my best to color match the double din and center console with the rest of the interior. (maybe the job is not finished)

But def Love the job overall.

Now that you guys have raised this thread from the dead Kind, You got me thinking about putting my hands back on this project.

Ok, the single din looks terrible, and where are the ac controls?

Other than that, not bad.
