CF hood, Hood pins / Damper system req?
Hey guys,
Never had an aftermarket hood, And I'm not really sure if this thing is going to be a replacement for stock or If I have to buy extras for it to work properly.
I understand since it's lighter I probably need hood pins, I was looking at these. (All the way at the bottom) http://www.body-kitz.com/contents/en...ber-hoods.html
But I don't know the difference between standard and locking.
Also, do I need a damper system to go with this.
I don't want to spend all this money on a hood that I just break the first time I close it.
TY!

First let me clear up something..CF hoods are heavier then our stock aluminum hoods...
If you get one I would recommend a body shop installing it and making proper adjustments to line it up correctly($100)...As far as hood pins...It is a peace of mind purchase..Some go many years without them with no problems..But there are horror stories as well of them flying up...Get some good quality pins from Aerocatch...
This is a pic of the Vis TS hood I had which I sold...Needed the $

Well, I bought (that same hood!) a Fiberglass Knock off from R1. I plan on having someone who knows what they're doing put it on-- just a matter of, do I have the right hardware.
I had a trip where my stock hood was shaking pretty bad @ 120mph. Only happened once, but I told myself I'd definitely consider pins if I did an aftermarket hood. After 10 years, I need a new hood... so here I am.
