What is The Run?

The Run is an annual charity event held by the 350z Club of Florida in the Tampa Bay area in commemoration of the the rebirth of the Nissan Z car, the 350z. The 350z was launched in late 2002, and included in the purchase each new vehicle was a promotional video called The Run. This video featured the new 350z racing through the vacant streets of Prague in an adrenaline packed chase that showcased the car's high performance capabilities.

The original The Run event was held in September 2003, and this year's event will be the 4th annual celebration of the launch of the new Z car. Club members and guests will take part in a "Poker Run", and a Timed Run through a preset course. During the filming of Nissan's The Run video, the 350z races through various locations in Prague, including a bridge cobblestone city streets, and more. In our Run we route a course through the Tampa Bay area that mimics scenes from the film, during which all traffic laws are observed. We will end with a show in the front car lot at Autoway Nissan of Brandon, with food, radio station coverage, and a huge charity raffle drawing with thousands of dollars in prizes.

The Run is a non-profit charity event, and due to the holiday timing of this year's event, the chosen charity will be the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. With support from the US Marine Corps, we will be helping to donate toys and dollars to brighten up needy children's holiday season. All proceeds from the event are donated directly to the Toys for Tots Foundation.

Bring extra cash for raffle tickets, big ticket items will each have a drop box so you can pick what you want to win. Raffle tickets will sell for $1 each and there is no limit to how many you can buy. The more you enter, the better your chance, and all raffle proceeds go to Toys for Tots!

We have enough prizes that almost everyone usually wins something. But, above all, the goal is to have fun!

Who is invited to participate?

In previous years, The Run was open only to 350z owners. This year, we're inviting ALL generations of Z car owners and G35 owners to participate in the event.

Keep in mind that this event is oriented towards the 350z, and the vast majority of the raffle prizes will be for 350z and G35 owners. However, this does not stop other Z car owners from coming out and having fun. Our general raffle that is included in registration will include many general prizes for everyone.

What is the Poker Run?

The Poker Run is a fun contest that we have built in as part of The Run driving course. While driving the course, we have five predetermined stops set up. At each stop, there will be a club officer waiting with a deck of playing cards. Each driver will be allowed to draw a single card which will be recorded on their score sheet. At the end of The Run, the driver with the best poker hand will win a prize! Last year, our winning hand was 3 Aces.

What is the Timed Run?

The Timed Run event is an event within in event. It is not a race for the fastest time, but rather an event to see how accurate you are at driving the course. While driving the course, each car will be timed. Previously, the event organizers (who are not competing in the timed event) drove the course multiple times to get an average time for which it takes to complete, including lights, traffic, etc. The driver that completes the course closest to the predetermined average will win a prize!

How does the Charity Raffle work?

The Charity Raffle is a huge raffle we hold each year which, like the rest of The Run event, benefits the Toys for Tots Foundation. All items featured in the charity raffle have been donated by our event sponsors (see below).

We hold a general raffle which includes all general items such as gift certificates and clothing which each participant is entered in.

Many of the big ticket items listed will be featured in our individual raffle. Tickets for these items will be sold for $1 each and you are allowed to drop them in the drop box for the particular item you'd like to win. This allows participants to choose exactly which item they're interested in. Remember, that the more you donate, the better your chance to WIN. And, in the end, it all goes to a good cause!

** We encourange event attendees to to donate an unwrapped toy of $10 or more to Toys for Tots. An extra five (5) general raffle tickets will be given for a donation of a toy with a value of $10 or more. (please bring reciept if possible). Only the first toy donation grants extra tickets, but we encourage as many donations as possible in the spirit of the season!

Friday, December 8th

7:00 PM - Meet & Greet at Quaker Steak & Lube in Pinellas Park. This is a meet and greet for all Z's and G's meeting in the Tampa Bay Area for The Run event. We will be having dinner at Quaker Stea & Lube and hanging out and having a good time. We have a group rate at the Wingate Inn directly behind the restaurant for those that are coming to town Friday night.

Saturday, December 9th

10:00 AM - Registration begins at Quaker Steak & Lube. Arrive early to eat lunch and hang out. Quaker Steak & Lube is offering a 10% discount, and also 10% of all lunch goes to Toys for Tots.

12:30 PM - Drivers meeting for all drivers participating in The Run.

1:00 PM - First cars depart to drive the course for the Poker Run.

1:00 PM through 4:00 PM - Cars finish running the Poker Run and pull into Autoway Nissan of Brandon. There will be food for participants, entertainment, and a huge Z Car meet on the front lot of the dealership. Special charity raffle tickets for sale.

5:00 PM - Awards and charity raffle at Autoway Nissan of Brandon.

7:00 PM - The Run event ends. Drivers depart for a night on the town in their Z cars!
