detail session ... clay -> Z-PC -> KSG -> S100 (lots of pics)
yo guys,
I picked up an '04 G35 last week... black/black of course :naughty:
The car came with alot of swirls and some holograms from bad buffing. Needless to say I was really looking forward to detailing it ... spent all of Sunday doing so.
Just wanted to post a pic-by-pic journal of what I did and it's results.
At first, I was thinking of naturally going from Zaino PC to Z2 ... but I always felt that KSG looked better on black. Looking at the instructions on both products, the zaino PC leaves no fillers or oils so I proceeded to follow it up with Klasse SG. Then topped that coat with S100 (same as P21S).
Pre-Clayed - tells you what I had to start off with
I used Clay Magic to clay it around ... man the car was pretty dirty.
Clay
Clay piece after just 2 panels (hood and a door)
Hood after being clayed - I noticed some swirls disappear ... just made sure to clay in 1 direction swipes.
Results after using ZPC + orange pad
finally, coat of SG + S100 - hand applied
It's always fun to experiment with products ... i'm glad I went this route (ZPC -> SG) ... turned out great. I'd really recommend ZPC because it did an AWESOME job getting rid of most, if not all, the swirls and holograms I had on the paint.
From here on, it's just layering S100 until the rain season comes and goes.

Wax is applicable by hand or by Orbital or by Rotary.. Personal preference really. However, you will achieve better results with a PC then you would with hand application of course. Yet, the route that the OP went with was more than sufficient for an achievement of goals.. so if anything.. you should PC the abrasive coat (like the OP did).. and if you're going to hand applicate anything else.. it would be the wax (last coats of the process)
Looks great!.. I can't wait for Meguair's Day so I could learn to use a PC properly and get my car lookin bling blaow like that! haha
