Hello all, as I've been writing, I'm fixing a leak on the rear main seal. Well, there is another item that looks like it might be leaking, but I can't figure out what it is. It's at the top of the back of the engine, seems like a plug, but really not sure. Don't recall seeing this on other cars,so I thought I would ask, in case I need another gasket.
So, what is this? Looks like you can fit a torx into it. Right there, center stage of the pic, above the crank.
Just a heads up to anybody that stumbles across this thread in the future, that plug is for the oil galley that runs from the front to the back of the engine and down to the bearings. It’s not for coolant.
