Thumbs up JWT twins on my 5AT by VRT.

So here it is, my 5at with the JWT kit installed by the pimps at VRT. For those that don't know this is a JWT kit installed on a stock motor and stock auto tranny. VRT and JWT agreed on tuning it a bit conservatively as this is the first auto tranny (that I'm aware of) with the JWT kit installed. It made about 411hp on the dyno, but we decided to back it off to about 360. We want to feel it out and retune for more power as we get comfortable with what we think the tranny can handle.

First impression, it runs great and is freakin quick. I was smiling the entire ride home to Vegas from San Diego. Shifting is smooth as silk, no different from stock. Ride is awesome, idles great. I can't wait to get it on a track. It blows through first and second gear like they don't exist. before you know it you're doing 80 in a 35... (apologize to your neighbors for me Michael )

Here are a few quick and dirty pics, more to come when I get some daylight. I forgot to ask for a copy of the dyno which might have to wait until the VRT crew gets back from racing at Laguna Seca. More to come...

dayumn!! sick setup!! how much the whole kit/install/gauges set you back if you dont mind me asking?? personally i see myself being happy w/ a vortech, but id LOVE to go T or TT...just worried running stock internals (daily driver as well....) which is why if I did ever go T or TT I'd run really low boost as I feel 350rwhp is plenty enough for me....

I'd much rather have a bit Less power than expected w/ the kit and run good/long than push buttons and go for max HP...

Hard to nail the price down as we aren't quite done yet. We were going to install a new radiator, oil and tranny cooler, but had to put it off due to some unforseen problems and time constraints. After it's all said and done I'd guess it's in the neighborhood of $14k. That's for the kit installed and tuned, cooling work (not done yet), valve body upgrade (not done yet), Jet Hot coating on the turbo parts, Brembos... I know I'm forgetting something.

Sweeeet . . . Looks great! Your G must be a blast to drive, now. I trust that the tuning will prove to be very productive. Enjoy!

The other gauges are autometer Nexus. I'll be replacing the AEM wideband with the Nexus wideband as soon as they ship it to me (on pre-order). The A pillar pod is also autometer I believe.

Very nice set-up. Love JWT products. IF you dont plan on rebuilding tranny at this time, with tranny cooler your installing, you should get a Valve body upgrade and Torque Converter done. Tranny will shift better, smoothier and quicker. High torque power can do damage to our auto tranny's. So definitely consider those upgrades. Maybe later, consider TS flash to raise rev limiter.

I have the TS L-spec reflash. We were going to do the valve body through Stillen, but again their time frame didn't match mine. It's definitely something we plan on doing though, along with that Pro Torque TC.

I was considering SGP, but I hear that their company is in a sort of state of flux right now.

411... not bad dude. What boost level did you guys hit 411 @? If your only at 311(also at what boost), I would say your ok.... I drove 410 @ 7 psi for a good 30 k. NO PROBLEMS. Mine is a daily driver/beater in $hitty LA traffic
