I think that it was 8 pounds, but it may have been 8.5. I'm waiting for the VRT guys to get back from Laguna Seca so I can get the dyno graph.

Great setup but how about a built motor? Another $2-3k? Think it's worth it or is the AT not worth risking even with the VB upgrade?

Hope SGP is doing ok - heard really good things about their VB upgrade - hope they are still there when I need them!

Also just curious why you chose the JWT over others, such as APS?

Oooh, I see Q45tech lurking, maybe we can get some insight on what the stock auto tranny can handle?

A fully built motor would probably run you anywhere from $4 - $6k depending on the parts used. I wouldn't bother though I just don't think that the auto tranny can handle that range of power yet. You'd probably have to wait for someone to start making trannys and mods for drag racing.

I went with the JWT because of the low turbo lag. It's running well by about 2500 RPMs. I know some people with the APS too though and they love it. I can't take anything away from either kit, I think that they are both great. I'd be more worried about getting an installer with a good reputation and experience.

yea he is right. Built motor will run you about 4-6k depending on what you parts you use and how crazy you get with heads and all...

tranny will hold about 420 I would say and be good for a daily driver... Build the tranny its a piece of mind.

I built my motor and my tranny. Motor good for up to 650 HP and tranny good for 1000 HP .

I do still have the 3.5 rear end. I thought about switching back to the 3.3, but it's kinda fun the way it is right now.

Kamal, can you give us a breakdown of what was done to your tranny?

its a race spec built transmission with a high stall torque converter. I will have a complete breakdown later today for you guys when I can get a detailed description from Tim @ Speed Force Racing...

Changed out clutch packs
Changed out clearance of the clutch packs
Change out torque converter (built)
changed out valve body

Speed Force Racing is selling their tranny for I think $3,200. A little steep but amazing quick response shifting and ultimate piece of mind....

Is that the same as what Tinman has? His shifts pretty hard, but I like it.
