I've been meaning to measure what kind of mileage I've been getting in the city. I'll do it on my next tank of gas. It's going to be skewwed though because I'm something of a lead foot. On the highway I was getting about 26 mpg though.

Wow. 26 mpg on the highway. Is that an increase or decrease from your mileage pre-TT?

Yeah actually, I was only getting about 23-24 when I was NA. Weird huh?

Should note that that's trying to get every last mile out of it. No hard acceleration, doing the speed limit, the whole 9 yards.

The JWT TT kit gets almost the exact same gas mileage as a Stillen Stage 3. How do I know? Scott from VRT and I filled up at the same gas station in San Diego, then proceeded to drive to Vegas. Me in my Stillen Stage 3 G35 and Scott in a customer's JWT TT non-built 350Z. We filled up again in Barstow and my car took $1 more in gas that his did.

This doesn't answer your question at all, but I just thought it was interesting

Does the JWT TT come with a BOV?

I read somewhere that the pressure is recirculated?!

You read right. It is a recirculating valve. It doesn't vent to atmosphere.

Very interesting.

Isn't it better to vent to atmosphere to relieve pressure?
Won't the recirculation cause higher temps?

I've read that recirculation is more efficient, but I didn't see anything about heat. Honestly I don't know.

I don't think you can vent to atmosphere per CARB rules.

All factory turbos have recirculating valves. EVOs, STIs, etc... For CARB rules, you cannot vent into the atmosphere as rookie said. The APS kits also have a recirculating valve instead of a BOV.

They sure do! I had heard that taking the recirc valve off and adding a BOV would cause stalling issues, but i know one guy that has one on his aps st and it works fine.

You can always have the bov open out to the automosphere causing the blow off noise. However some systems might cause the car to bog without proper modification.

I think the recirculating valve sounds sick. Its not quiet. You can still hear it and it has a different sound. If I could type sounds, this is where I would type it.

By swapping out the recirculating valve for an aftermarket BOV on the JWT TT kit, won't it be a drastic improvement?

I mean the first thing most people do when they get a car with OEM turbo(s) is upgrade to an aftermarket BOV such as HKS.

Or does the recirculation cut down on the lag?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm getting the same kit so I am just trying to learn as much as I can about it.
