My major concerns are:

1) Which wheels do the Wilwoods fit within. I/we don't want to purchase your kit and find that it does not work with our current wheels.

2) Parking break requirements. Even if I were to track my G35, it would still need to satisfy the State Inspection process that does require that a parking break is operational.

I personally just can't wait until I get a set on all four wheels!

 

Most 17" or larger wheels fit, make sure the wheel has at least 1.5" between the inside of the spokes and the hub so you have room for the overhang of the caliper.
I have a hydraulic line lock ($29) to serve the parking brake function but
I dont know if that will get you through inspection or not.
I've gone for maximum performance and minimum weight on my kits.
Here's a picture of one side of the 4-piston REAR kit (the whole kit is $795 for the pair)
It's completely bolt on ( the original backing plate assembly is removed )

I'll be posting a step by step install later this weekend.

Dave, thanks for posting up this helpful information. Have a few questions for you.

1. What calipers are you using for the front kit? Superlite SL6 calipers?
2. What pads come with the kit? Are they Wilwood E, Q, or BP pads?
3. Who manufactures the rotor hats and rings? And when it comes time to replace any of those parts where can we get them?
4. I'm assuming the rotor vanes are curved?

How is the hyraulic line lock applied? Will this close the rear pistons only?
Does the foot parking brake pedal become useless?

 

Guys, Here is a few pictures of a Wilwood set-up with 14" rotors, 19" volks. I belive you cannot get this setup anymore. I was thinking a line-lock setup could be good for thief protection.

 

I use the BILLET SUPERLITE 6 caliper , we could also supply the kit with the
forged 4-piston calipers as a lower cost option.

I include the black "smartpads" from Wilwood, getting terrific usage from them
I have optional compounds available.

We make the rotors hats and brackets and stock the replacment parts.

Yes the rotors are curved vane and directional.

My rotors came with the fastbrakes.com kit is indeed 13.6", not 13.06.
Also I love the cross drilled look! See photo with measurements!

 

How much did you pay for them? I wonder if they would fit my stock 17s?

 

Thanks Dave. How much would a kit be using the 4 piston caliper? And which caliper model would you be using? I'm assuming the Billet Superlite 4 caliper. Also will the 4 piston caliper even fit your 35 mm width rotor? Or would you be using a 32mm width rotor instead? Thanks.

 

The front kit using the FORGED 4-piston Wilwood Superlite calipers and
13 inch rotors would be $1069 for the pair with all brackets and SS lines hardware etc.
We use this caliper and rotor combo on a number of our other kits all the time
such as 280Z and ZX, 240SX etc. If the price difference was a make or brake issue I would have no hesitation using the 4-piston, to me personally the extra bux for the 6-piston is well worth it on a G35 or 350Z.

Dave, that's awesome pricing while still using quality components. You're really making me think hard now about getting this 4-piston kit even though I promised myself I wouldn't get a BBK until my skill level at the track started to overpower my stock brakes.

Okay, one more pesky question for you.
What is the piston sizing on the 4-piston Forged Superlite caliper you use in your kit? My concern is retaining the proper brake bias. According to the catalog you can get that caliper in a variety of piston sizes ranging from 28.4 - 44.5 mm.

 

sorry i am still confused about Dave's willwood package compared
to others(fastbreak.com) offers. If Dave uses the same caliber,... except rotor, brake lines,.. to have better price, how does parking brake work for fastbreak.com offer but not Dave's? Can anyone explain what's the difference between Dave's and others' that makes this difference?

Mind rephrasing that into a comprehensible format? Not trying to be a dick, just don't understand what you are asking.

 

As you read couple posts above, there's a concern about
parking break. Dave said he has a hydraulic line to serve
parking brake function. If i am correct you don't have parking
brake problem if you buy Willwood bbk from other brake vendors
I am a noob here, so i don't know what's the difference between Dave's
and others (that cause the parking break problem if they use the same
caliber)
