wilwood 13.6" BBK arrived

Can't wait to have it installed in my 2005 G35x.
I did some weight in, Here are some stats:

Stock Rotor each: 11.75" /16.3lbs
Wilwood Rotor each; 13.6" 14.3 Lbs /2 piece w Alu. hat
Grow 2 inches & Shave 2lbs rotating mass (Also unsprung weight)

Stock Caliper each: ~14lbs/single piston
Wilwood Caliper Each; 4.8 Lbs, 4 piston
(add 1lb for Aluminum adaptor ~5.8lbs)
Gain 3 pistons & Shave another 8lbs unsprung weight

I wonder besides the BBK upgrade on performance,
what kind of feel I'll get on shaving 10lbs unsprung weight per corner.

Can't wait!

Awesome, I am considering this BBK in addition to the Rotora BBK. What were your reasons for choosing the Wilwood kit? Post pics of the install if possible and give us an update once you break them in. Thanks.

You're blowing your hard earned money on brakes when you should be buying baby formula, you just push those bottles out of the way for the photo ! Just kidding, nice brakes - are they from RMS? I was looking for this kit in the Wilwood catalog, but couldn't find it. So I'm assuming RMS had the brackets made and put the rest together as a kit from Wilwood parts.

Shame on me. I couldn't wait, so I did push the formular bottles aside & took those not so professional photos . However, word of advice: Alway stock up baby formular before ask wife approval for brake funds . His formula is stocked up for 6 month out.

The place I got it from is fastbrakes.com.

Although he said it'll fit G35 sedan/G35x, the parts are for 350Z/G coupe. I am not 100% sure it'll fit, but 90% Sure. I'll paint it to blue after install just incase there's fitting problems I'll have to sell.

Check out my brake right now, it's painted blue with Stoptech drilled rotor.
Please vote for me to get up the ranks, thanks!

I bought the 13" kit, which is a lot cheaper than the 14" kit, and positively surprised it measures out at 13.6". I don't want it to be any bigger for my 18" PIAA Super Rozza & I want the brake upgrate to come with weight loss advantage as well.

Will post photos after install!

I'm planning on the same upgrade. Where did you get yours from? How much?
What wheels are you using with these brakes? I got a quote from Dave at
Arizona Z car for $1395 for the fronts and $795 for the rears. I have the stock 2003 6 spoke wheels and Dave tells me they will definitly fit.

See my wheels here: 18x8 PIaa Super Rozza

I didn't like the Arizona Z BBK because fastbrakes.com is cheaper & has the cross-drilled rotors.

Also, orderred 13" kit & I got 13.6" rotors.

Will the 13.6" rotor work with the stock 17" wheels?

the rotors are unsprung. but the calipers, i thought, weren't. either way, that's decent weight loss.

Yes, disc brake is unsprung weight. Otherwise, 10lbs weight loss isn't worth it. ( I gave my G a 10lb weight loss by switcting to light weight yellow top optima battery. Can't feel a thing.)
Unsprung weight is any weight not supported the suspension.

Unsprung weight
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Unsprung weight includes the mass of components such as the wheel spindles, wheel bearings, tires, and a portion of the weight of driveshafts, springs, shock absorbers, and suspension links. If the vehicle's brakes are mounted outboard (i.e., within the wheel), their weight is also part of the unsprung weight."

right... but i thought that was in reference to brake drums... not calipers... i'm curious, where do the calipers mount? that's probably why i'm confused.

Problem is paradise.

My dealer just tried fro 2 hours but could not install the BBK.

He said the caliper contact my Super Rozza wheel spokes & require a 25mm
spacer inorder to clear. That'll push the tire slightly over the wheel well.

The dealer is concerned about safety for such thick spacer. I wind up
getting my car back with a $200 car wash & no BBK installed.

1. Does anyone know if running 25mm spacer with longer bolts is unsafe?
2. Will anyone willing to buy from me for the brand new set for $1250 incase
I decided to sell? My Super rozza with 50 off set & big lips is the problem.
The spokes goes in too much. The kit is made for Z & G coupe, where the front wheel well has more room.

help!
