"Official" GT SPEC Strut Bar & chasis braces - Reviews, Opinions & Thoughts
Hey guys - I just wanted to start a thread on the GTSpec Strut Bar.
I have seen reviews here and there but nothing that compiles G drivers thoughts and opinions about it.
Is it worth the 200+ dollars? Anyone seen any real performance gains? Or is it all show?
Leave your thoughts here!

i see that since you finished your CF project that you are getting the mod itch again eh? lol
my strut bar brackets are currently being powdercoated so i will let you know if i actually notice anything when i install it.
im sure that u will find @ least some sort of benefit as you are giving your chassis extra bracing and extra chassis bracing never really hurts.
finally, the bar does look quite nice in our engine bays

I just ordered mine and should be arriving soon. I highly doubt that I will notice much of a difference in performance.. but will sure look nice under the hood.
BTW I know that some ppl have mentioned the problem with clearance w/ the hood lining.. so with all you guys with the GTSpec FST, how is the fitment?

From a technical perspective, the strut bar completes the top-half of the "box". So it does offer the advantage of minimizing flex at max load.
That said, i had one on my previous car - a 5th gen Maxima that is not known for having the stiffest chassis out there. It worked, albeit minimally. I got better handling performance gains out of the aftermarket sway bar and strut/springs. On that car, with a variety of $50 strut bars, it was still worth it, if anything for the aesthetics.

I guess I personally dont care much for the looks since I hardly ever look under my hood.
I really care about the performance gains though. If its relatively noticeable and really does improve chassis stiffness and drivability, I would definately want it. I would be dissapointed if I dont feel much improvement and im forcing myself to "feel" improvement rather than actually having it.

A well known and respected vendor (on this board and g37.com, who will remain anonymous of course) said that the strut bars do not do much on our cars. It isn't like our car is riding on a unibody frame like cars from the old days.
Me personally, I'm starting from the bottom and then working my way to the top (frame strengthening wise).
