5AT Shift ****

Hey Guys I had a question, im not sure if this has been asked before. I was wondering if there was any way possible to change a 5at shifter and convert it into a short shifter so that i can use an aftermarket shift ****. Is there any way you could possibly use a manual one and make a push sequence to down shift from park to drive. Also, would there be any way you could make the shifting area into a boot so that it looks like its manual, when its really automatic just for looks, the way mercades and bmw does on smg's and the new m series.

Yes this has been discussed before but you need to get a few things straight. First off, when you say "short shifter" you mean you want to shorten the height on the shaft right? Your not talking about a short throw shifter because thats impossible for AT. What you discussed about somehow modifying the button mechanism and instaling a manual **** would be incredibly hard to do (if indeed possibly at all) and well, sort of useless. If you want a **** that looks like MT, go with the Momo Automatic Shift **** in eithier black leather or aluminum. It fits the stock shaft and has the push button feature, all while looking like a manual ****.

As far as putting a boot on an AT shifter, I'd reccomend registering with the www.my350z.com forum and refering to this link: http://my350z.com/forum/showthread.p...ght=shift+****

Here's a pic of the Momo ****, just disregard the distributing company's logo.

That's a big tip off that you didn't do a search. Give it a try, you might like it.
