Infiniti G35 '05 6MT

Picked up this early summer of 2015 and decided I must get acquainted with this forum.
I Plan on slowly building it to my liking however I am on a college budget and currently jobless as I just left my student summer job...

2005 G35
6 Speed Manual
Every add-on except wood trim and GPS, both of which I did not want.
140,000kms on the clock, however 157,000 now after traveling to and from my daily job all summer.
Good set of Hankook Ventus V12's on her right now and am fairly impressed with their performance.. except in the rain.

If I land a job soon I might get myself a couple congratulation gifts and plan on keeping this thread updated in the future

Heres a couple photos of the new family member.

And I good photo after a good wash and wax. And no that is not a scratch on the door.. didnt notice it in the picture till recently.

Things to do for sure: (nothing in order)

Front fender needs new paint (**** job and you can see the colour is off)
VQ35DE has fallen victim to the OC issue (possible winter rebuild)
Need a new shift **** (old one is worn and ****)
Tint needs to be redone (apparent wear in the back and driver side window)

Don't mod anything, once you start it never ends. Keep it clean and untouched as long as possible.
Save your money to deal with that motor issue...and insurance.

For what its worth I think your right... Theres a couple issues I seriously have to deal with first though. 1) In 32 degree celcius weather or after I drive the car hard, the pedal first 2/3 of the clutch pedal will disappear and the pedal will stick at 2/3 down, when pressing it, it seems like thats right where the catch point is too, acts like a on/off switch when this happens. I read online MC, SC and possibly clutch fluid are likely causes. 2) The PO states the clutch was never replaced and that it is OEM... Im finding it hard to believe since its a sporty car and he was in his 20's and even though I know its possible I feel like its doubtful considering the car now has 157,500kms on it. input?

The clutch issue is actually quite common so don't fret on that one.
You can tell a lot about how previous owners drove by the way the car shifts. It is completely possible it is the stock clutch, the kid may not have really ever grinded on it or actually knew what he was doing. When the clutch goes, you can feel it. A lot of drivers will replace it at this time, or just as preventative maintenance means...personal choice. I'm nearing 100k on mine, still stock clutch and flywheel...no issues at all just stay on top of fluids.

Congrats and welcome to the forum. Car looks good, but you need to post more pics!

I agree on keeping it in stock form and just taking good care of it. Nothing wrong with a stock car. Modding can get expensive, so save that until you have plenty of $$ to spare.

The front bumper needs serious love... I dont know if I want to keep it yet or not.. underbody is mint as its never seen salt, well... half a season, but its been oiled every year prior and after.

If I keep it, plans are to tear the front end apart, new rings and pistons and repaint the front bumper... Still contemplating..... Also Tires that are STOCK spec, instead of the stupid setup it has now,

Hopefully will post more pictures shortly, a friend of mine whom is a great photographer offered for free... cant argue...

Late reply, but I honestly like the look of the OEM G bumper rather than a aftermarket option. But thank you for the offer

Slowly purchasing goodies for the G...

Decided that I am going to drive it with the OC issue until summer/ next fall if I can, else I will deal with that bridge when I have to cross it.

Just ordered some Gates racing serpentine belts, old ones are pretty worn and theres nothing like some nice preventative maintenance.
And since my stock shift **** was toast I decided to get a weighted Zilla Life **** and so far have no complaints.
